Zolotov Studio

We migrated Zolotov Studio's website from Tilda to ModX Evolution — 70 pages, a product/service catalog with a shopping cart, an online calculator, and a reviews database — and built a custom visual block builder that replaced the familiar Tilda editing experience, now running on top of a full-featured CMS.

Task

The client had a working website on Tilda: around 70 pages with a portfolio, case studies, articles, and inquiry forms for different services — studio rental, video and photo shoots, online broadcasting. The site was generating leads, but the builder was holding back growth: Tilda works well for landing pages, but isn't built to manage the structure of a large site, SEO metadata, or connected data like a catalog or a reviews database. JetBit was tasked with rebuilding the site 1:1 in structure and content on a new platform, adding the missing functionality — a catalog with a cart, a calculator, a filterable reviews database — and giving the client a convenient admin panel with visual editing, no HTML required.

Result

We migrated the site to ModX Evolution, preserving all ~70 pages — structure, copy, and functionality of the original. But the real outcome of the project wasn't just the migration itself — it was a new tool for managing the site.

A block builder based on MODX MultiFields. For this project, we adapted JetBit's own in-house solution — a page builder based on MultiFields, an extended TV (Template Variable) type in ModX Evolution that stores a whole set of nested fields inside a single field: text, images, links. Each block is described by a config with its own fields and output templates — separate ones for the admin panel and the front end. A block can be public (selectable directly in the builder) or private (used only as a nested field inside another block), which allows for arbitrarily nested block structures. A field can be marked as a container, adding a "+" button in the builder so a manager can add any number of identical nested blocks — handy for galleries, lists, and repeating cards. A dedicated plugin in the MODX admin hides the underlying TV field and replaces it with a visual builder assembled from the config. The finished page is saved as JSON directly in the TV field, and on the front end a separate snippet reads the config and JSON to render the page, applying the right templates based on block nesting — styling is handled in CSS.

A block set tailored to Zolotov Studio. We put together a set of standard blocks so the client's manager could visually recreate everything they were used to on Tilda: page covers with a title and background image/video, text blocks with icons and column layouts for service descriptions, photo and video galleries with a responsive grid, a reviews block that automatically pulls in reviews for the relevant service category, inquiry forms and briefs integrated with amoCRM, a catalog block with a cart for the rental page, and an online calculator block. Breadcrumbs are generated automatically above the cover on every page, via a separate snippet, with no manual setup needed.

Reviews database. Built as a separate MODX resource type with a TV field for the service category (online broadcasting, food photography, studio rental, etc.). The reviews block in the builder simply references the right category, and a front-end snippet automatically pulls and displays the relevant reviews on each page — no manual content duplication.

Catalog and calculator. The product/service catalog with a cart for the rental page, and a calculator matching the one on the old site, were built as standalone modules and connected as blocks within the same builder — so they can be dropped into any page just like any other standard block.

SEO and usability. Alongside the migration, we ran an SEO and usability audit of the existing Tilda site, agreed on a list of fixes with the client, and implemented them in the new version: found and fixed broken links and duplicate pages, preserved the existing h1–h3 markup, set up robots.txt and automatic sitemap.xml generation, optimized images down to ≤100 KB per megapixel without a noticeable quality loss, and kept and expanded alt tags. All blocks were switched to a dark theme (#101010) with the brand's accent color (#008FD5), without changing the proportions or overall layout style, and we verified correct rendering in Internet Explorer 11, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, on both desktop and mobile.

Outcome for the client. The client didn't just get a copy of their old site on a new platform — they got a manageable tool: the client's manager can now build and edit pages themselves, through a clear visual interface, with no need to touch HTML or wait on a developer, while keeping the exact design and functionality that visitors and staff were already used to.

Easy to browse, easy to submit a request — on any device

Visitors reach the site from all kinds of devices, and the site adapts to each one: a responsive gallery grid, correctly rendered catalog and forms on mobile, and the same design and block logic preserved regardless of screen size.
